The circuit has a voltage supply (2,4) used for charging an electrical energy store (5) provided by a number of storage elements (C2-C5), with a charge equalization circuit (6) used for equalizing their stored charges. The charge equalization circuit is coupled to the voltage supply and the electrical energy store by respective switch elements (S4,S5,S6), operated by a common control unit (7).
