<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector capable of accurately detecting a liquid level by stabilizing the flow state in which air discharged into a liquid is made to escape above the liquid level. <P>SOLUTION: A nozzle 21 is arranged on an ink tank 11 storing an ink I. Air A is discharged into the ink I through an opening 21A of the nozzle 21. A sensor 25 detects a back pressure P1 inside the nozzle 21. By detecting changes in the back pressure PI, a liquid level position is detected. The opening 21A of the nozzle 21 opens in a direction tilted with respect to an axis of the nozzle 21. The nozzle 21 is retained in a nearly perpendicular direction such that the opening 21A is set to the state tilted with respect to the liquid level L. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
