摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device that enables electric power consumption to be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In an organic EL display, a pixel circuit 20 (20R, 20G, 20B) is installed in the intersection of each scanning line Y1-Yn and each data line. Also, the organic EL display is equipped with a shift register 12a and a decoder circuit 13a. The shift register 12a sequentially selects each scanning line in response to clock signals CLK1, CLK2. The decoder circuit 13a inputs an address signal ADn and properly selects any one of the scanning lines on the basis of the address signal ADn. Then, in displaying animation pictures, the shift register 12a is used, the scanning lines are sequentially selected.
