<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control system for a vehicle which can accurately detect the current applied to a motor even in the case of PWM-controlling the drive motor of a wheel steering shaft. <P>SOLUTION: This system controls a current applied to the steering shaft drive motor 6 by means of a current sensor 70, and also controls the rotation of the steering shaft drive motor 6 by PWM control. Then, as regards the switching system for the pair of two phases of coils concerned in current application of the motor 6, a first system which is excellent in rectilinearity of control and a second system which is hard to cause a flyback current are used in their proper ways, according to the applied current values of the steering shaft drive motor. As a result, this can accurately detect the current applied to the motor, though the drive motor of the wheel steering shaft is switched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
