PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing for an organic luminescent element enlarging a work function, enhancing injection efficiency, lowering element driving voltage, improving service life characteristics in continuous driving and the stability of chromaticity, and suppressing increase in resistance to the utmost. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing for the organic electroluminescent element having an organic luminous layer 3 between an anode 6 and a cathode 1 is provided. The surface of the anode 6 is cleaned so that a contact angle of the surface of the anode to water becomes 10°or less, and then the surface treatment is conducted so that the work function of the surface of the anode 6 is enlarged 0.5 eV or more.
