PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed change controller of an automatic transmission and its designing method for giving sufficient speed change feeling. SOLUTION: The speed change controller of the automatic transmission generates slip by reducing transmission torque by a release-side frictional engagement element in speed change from one gear change stage to the other gear change stage, and increases the transmission torque by an engaging-side frictional engagement element. This device calculates a slip amount based on an input shaft rotary speed and an output shaft rotary speed of the automatic transmission. A predetermined threshold value is transferred to a predetermined target value while drawing an ideal trajectory for suppressing speed change shock to calculate a target slip amount for keeping the target value. When it is determined that the calculated slip amount exceeds the predetermined threshold value, feedback control is performed so that the calculated slip amount equals to the calculated target slip amount. While, the transmission torque of the engaging-side frictional engagement element is increased in response to the start of the feedback control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
