PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve for optical communication having good insertability even if a ferrule is diagonally inserted by prying into a through-hole of the sleeve for optical communication. SOLUTION: A through-hole 2 of a sleeve 1 for optical communication of a hollow cylindrical form having the through-hole 2 for insertion of the ferrule has a tapered part 4 of an angleθof inclination 5 to 45°and a tapered part with a length K of 8 to 35% from a tip face 1a in relation to an overall length L of the sleeve 1 at a tip section 3 and has a curved surface section 5 at the boundary between the tapered part 4 and the tip face 1a.
