PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having excellent bead durability by making cross section of a filament of a bead core flat and clarifying relation of its flatness ratio and bead collapse. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire provided with a pair of bead parts 1 formed at the inner periphery of a pair of side wall parts 5 continuous with both end parts of a tread part, respectively, a monostrand bead core 3 formed by turning and bundling filament spirally is buried in the bead part 1, and a cross sectional shape of the filament is a flat shape in which flatness ratio (b/a) of height a in the radial direction of the tire to width b in the direction of width of the tire is 1.2 or more.
