PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation amount detector for an operation member having a high resolution and less noise, reducing a number of installing steps or parts, and simplifying a signal conversion process. SOLUTION: In an operation amount detector for a gas pedal 1 for detecting an operation amount of the gas pedal 1 and controlling a throttle butterfly driver according to the operation amount of the gas pedal 1, a wavelength selecting filter 14 that continuously changes a frequency of transmitted light is provided on a filter plate 12 rotatably supported on a case 11. A light-emitting element 15 and a light-receiving element 16 are fixed on the case 11 so as to sandwich the wavelength selecting filter 14. The frequency of light transmitting the wavelength selecting filter 14 is detected to continuously detect a depression amount of the gas pedal 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
