PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently display a feature space of a large amount of images with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The first quadripartite is performed in a state that the number is equal to each other, the next quadripartition is performed on the basis of adjacent grids in a high order layer, the quadripartition of a central area is performed in reference to the grids A-D. For example, in a case of determining a representative point of an area 1, an evaluation function represented by El(p)=D(A, p) + D(B, p) + (1-D(C, p)) + (1-D(D, p)) is used. D () is applied as a distance function, and A-D are representative point (image) of each of A-D. A point of the smallest value of the evaluation function among the points included in the central area is regarded as the representative point of the area 1. The representative points of the areas 2-4 are similarly determined. When the representative points are defined, all of the points (images) belonging to the central area are distributed in a state that the number of the points are equal to each other on the basis of a distance from the representative point.
