<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a stereoscopic image from a plurality of viewing directions. <P>SOLUTION: An image display unit (for example, a projection-type image display apparatus 10) displays a first image and a second image having a predetermined parallax relative to the first image onto a predetermined display region 40 while dividing the images temporally or spatially. First eyeglasses 30a are to be worn by a first viewer V1 to see the first image and the second image displayed on the display region 40. Second eyeglasses 30b are to be worn by a second viewer V2 to see the first image and the second image displayed on the display region 40 while the second viewer V2 faces the first viewer V1 in a direction parallel to a display plane. The first eyeglasses 30a perform a function of having the right eye and the left eye of the first viewer V1 see the first image and the second image, respectively.
