<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical treatment instrument which has a sufficient rigidity realizing the operation of turning and opening/closing of a treatment part to be operable in a small space and also has high operability and saftiness. <P>SOLUTION: An insertion part 2 of the surgical treatment instrument 1 is provided with a sheath 50 for covering the outsides of first and second drive bars 5, 6.
