Systems, methods, and computer program products that can reduce the amount of data transferred over networks are provided. A client request to a server for XML data includes an XSL style sheet for transforming XML data into at least one of a preferred client format, a preferred client format having a reduced amount of data, and a reduced amount of data. A server receiving the client request transforms XML data into a format preferred by the client and serves the transformed XML data to the client via a network. The server may store the received XSL style sheet for use in transforming XML data in response to future requests from clients. Future XML data requests from clients may be accompanied by an identification of the XSL style sheet that the server is to utilize to transform requested XML data. |
