CONTENT REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND CONTENT TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide content reproducing apparatus or the like which surely reproduces the data intended by a content provider while permitting the skip of reproduction of the contents when the reproducing apparatus accepts the instruction to skip the reproduction of the data, such as CMs (commercial messages), in a specific reproduction section in the reproduction of the contents.

SOLUTION: When the content reproducing apparatus receives from a user the skip instruction during the reproduction of the contents, the apparatus determines whether the skip of the reproduction of the data in the reproduction section instructed by the user is permissible or not. When the determination to deny the skip is made, the apparatus reproduces alternative data in place of the data in the reproduction section subjected to the skip instruction. The apparatus performs the control to reproduce the data in the reproduction section following the reproduction section subjected to the skip instruction after the completion of reproduction of the reproduction data of the alternative data.
