PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for a ball point pen, capable of readily removing dried adhering material of ink around a ball and creating evaporation-suppressing effect and hardly causing blur in writing and enabling smooth writing thereby. SOLUTION: The oily ink composition for ball point pens comprises a solvent selected from an alcohol, polyhydric alcohol and glycol ether in which a vapor pressure at 25°C is≥0.001 mmHg as a main solvent occupying≥50 wt.% based on total solvents and further comprises a phosphate or a neutralized product of the phosphate with an amine-based compound and comprises a neutralized product of an acid-based compound with an amine-based compound in which at least either one of the acid-based compound and the amine-based compound has a stearyl group in the molecular structure, and the acid-based compound is preferably the phosphate.
