PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for selectively producing a 1,2,4-trisubstitution product in production of a trisubstituted chlorinated derivative by chlorinating a disubstituted benzene derivative having a substituent at the o- or the m-position. SOLUTION: The disubstituted benzene derivative having the substituent at the o- or the p-position is chlorinated in the coexistence of a solvent using zeolite as a catalyst. In the process, a chlorinating reaction is carried out by using prediluted chlorine gas. The zeolite is preferably type L zeolite. The solvent is preferably a chloro-containing compound.
