The invention relates to a method for producing a ball-and-socket joint comprising a ball pivot (2) consisting of a pivot pin (3) provided with an essentially spherical head (4) which is applied or moulded to one side, a bearing shell (5), a preformed plastic film embodying a thin-walled ball socket (7) having a joint surface (8) which at least partially surrounds the spherical head, and a lubricant (9) which is applied between the surface of the spherical head (4) and the joint surface (8) of the thin-walled ball socket (7). According to said method, the thin-walled ball socket (7) is filled with the lubricant (9), the spherical head (4) of the ball pivot (2) is then introduced into the thin-walled ball socket (7) filled with lubricant (9), and the spherical head (4) thus provided with the thin-walled ball socket (7) is introduced into the housing (10). The free space between the thin-walled ball socket (7) and the housing (10) is filled with a material for forming a bearing shell (5). The inventive ball-and-socket joint (1) is characterised by the use of a preformed plastic film as a thin-walled ball socket (7).
