A curtain rail (d) of a suitable design is attached to the ceiling. A blind holding and operating unit is screwed to the rail (d) in order to facilitate the use of both, a curtain (b) as well as a blind (c). A combination can be created of a translucent curtain (b) and an opaque blind (c) or vice versa using one item for a more decorative purpose while the second is meant to shield the owner from the views of passers by and serve as a draught protection.
