PURPOSE: A battery is provided, to prevent the damage of an electrode assembly when a pouch is expanded due to charge/discharge of a battery by employing an electrode assembly damage prevention means. CONSTITUTION: The battery(21) comprises an electrode assembly(22) which comprises a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate and a separator placed between the two electrode plates; two electrode taps(23) connected with the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, respectively; a pouch under part(24) which receives the electrode assembly with exposing at least some part of the electrode taps and is provided with an under joining part(26) along the circumference and a pouch upper part(25) which is provided with the upper joining part(27) for sealing and joining with the under joining part; and a damage prevention means which is formed at the place between the electrode taps in the pouch and prevents the damage of the electrode assembly due to the internal entry of the corner part(28) of the pouch adjacent to the electrode taps when the internal pressure of the pouch increases.
