<p>Apparatus for use as a resistance exerciser has a frame 4 connected to at least one resilient member 3, eg an elastic strap. The frame 4 may be tubular and be telescopically received within a substantially planar portion 5. There may be two elastic strips 3 attached to an upstanding, tubular frame 12, with the elastic strips 3 running under pulleys 10. The position and height of the upstanding frame 12 can be adjusted for different sized users and different tensions in the elastic straps 3 for varying the resistance. Handles (fig 6) or ankle fasteners (fig 7) can be attached to the end of the elastic straps to exercise the arms or legs. A seat 7 may be removably attached to the portion 5 to change its position. The user can sit on the seat 7, either facing the upstanding frame 12, facing away from it, or side-ways on, kneel or stand. Adjustable footrests 9 may be provided. The apparatus can be dismantled. The strap 3 may be rubber.</p> |
