PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling photographing in a mobile communication terminal having a camera are provided to prevent stealth photographing by notifying the photographing to a subject or people around a photographing field, thereby protecting a private life and protecting industrial/military secrets. CONSTITUTION: A camera function is selected by pressing a camera switch(100) or through a menu. It is judged whether external notice units, a speaker(600) and an LED(Light Emitting Diode)(700) are abnormal. If the speaker and the LED are abnormal, an error message is displayed and the camera function is terminated without taking a photograph. If the speaker and the LED are normal, photographing is executed while executing an external notice function preliminarily set.
