DISPLAY DEVICE USING CATHODE RAY TUBE AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A display device using a cathode ray tube and a method for protecting the same are provided to cut off power of a display device in case that flyback lines are continuously generated, thereby preventing combustion generated due to overheat in a high voltage transformer and an FBT(Flyback Transformer). CONSTITUTION: A control unit detects an AKB(Auto Cathode Beam) feedback signal through a main block(S310). It is judged whether a flyback line is detected from the AKB feedback signal(S320). If so, the control unit displays an AKB error on a screen through OSD(On Screen Display) control of the main block(S330). It is judged whether the flyback lines are continuously generated in a predetermined frequency(S340). If so, a display device is turned off(S350).
