PURPOSE: An airbag for the seat next to a driver is provided to prevent an air cushion from bursting because of high-temperature and high-pressure gas by covering the outside of a gas jet formed at an inflator with a diffuser cap having a vent hole. CONSTITUTION: An airbag for the seat next to a driver is composed of an airbag housing(10) mounted at an instrument panel, an air cushion contained in the airbag housing and spreading into the seat next to the driver, an inflator(12) installed at the rear of the air cushion and generating gas supplied to the air cushion, and a diffuser cap(14) covering the outside of a gas jet(h) formed at the inflator. The diffuser cap has a vent hole(14a) away from the gas jet to prevent the gas from bounding on one surface(10a) of the airbag housing. |
