The physical exercise machine has a base (1) with a ramp (2) and a carriage (4) mounted for travelling on the ramp. A back support is connected to the carriage and a rack (11) has a crank (12) pivoted on the end. There are retainers on the crank to receive the users legs. The rack is pivotable on either side of a central position. The carriage can have a damper.
