PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for degrading a thiodiglycol compound with a newly found microorganism having an ability to specifically act on the thiodiglycol compound to degrade the thiodiglycol compound, and to provide a method for treating an injurious substance by the utilization of the method. SOLUTION: This method for degrading the thiodiglycol compound comprises treating the thiodiglycol compound with the microorganism belonging to the genus Gordonia. The method for treating an organic sulfur compound-containing injurious substance by the utilization of the method. Gordonia T08 strain and T21 strain used for the methods. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
