PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and a control method of the image processing device that reduce diversion of the throughput capacity of a main control part, for example, when a high resolution copying operation brings the throughput capacity of the image processing device to the limit. SOLUTION: The image processing device has a recording means for recording image data on a recording member, a state information acquiring means for acquiring state information about the recording means at given time intervals, and a time interval controlling means for controlling the time intervals of the state information acquisition.
