PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader fitting device in a checkout counter, easily installed in an arbitrary position of a crime prevention fence and effectively using the space above the checkout counter. SOLUTION: The card reader fitting device 6 is composed of a back plate 10 erected to surround a part of the outer peripheral part of the checkout counter along the inner surface of the crime prevention fence 4a, and a card reader support part 8 projected forward from the back plate 10. The upper part of the back plate 10 is provided with an engagement part 12 engaged with the upper end of the crime prevention fence 4a in a floating state, and the lower part of the back plate 10 is provided with a load support part 17 formed to place the dead load of the card reader fitting device 6 on a top plate 2 of the checkout counter 1. Thus, the space above the checkout counter is effectively used, and the card reader fitting device 6 is easily fitted in an arbitrary position of the crime prevention fence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
