PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduces the thickness of a machine room at the bottom while smoothening passage of a footboard at a point where the footboard turns back, and to improve riding comfort. SOLUTION: The conveyer comprises a pair of left and right endless footboard chains 6 rotating via a plurality of loading and unloading zones, a footboard spindle 7 for connecting the right and left footboard chains 6, a spindle roller 8 provided at both sides of the footboard 7, a rail 9 for restricting and guiding the running of the spindle roller 8, and a footboard 5 pivotably supported by the footboard spindle 7. The passenger conveyer in which a plurality of the footboard 5 are circularly moved via the landing and unloading zones 14 by the running of the footboard chain 6, the footboard chain 6 is arranged at the side of and away from the spindle roller 8 while the footboard spindle 7 and the footboard chain 6 are connected by the connection piece 15 and the running track of the spindle roller 8 and the track of the footboard chain 6 are made the same or the substantially the same.
