PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF URINARY INCONTINENCE

The invention relates to the field of therapeutic chemistry and, in particular, the field of pharmaceutical technology. More specifically, the invention relates to novel pharmaceutical compositions for the local treatment of urinary incontinence using a musculotropic and cholinergic substance which may or may not be associated with a poorly-absorbed oestrogen agent. The invention is characterised in that the musculotropic and cholinergic substance is oxybutynin or one of the salts thereof and in that the poorly-absorbed oestrogen agent is selected from estriol, 16-epiestriol or estradiol in free, esterified and/or etherified form. The invention is further characterised in that the composition is administered in one of the suitable forms thereof either vaginally or rectally for women and rectally for men, the form administered to men being devoid of oestrogen. The invention also relates to the vaginal or rectal use of said pharmaceutical compositions.
