In a process to produce biologically active water in which the water is cleansed and frozen prior to subsequent consumption. Prior to the freezing process, the water is sub-divided into portions and is cleansed during the freezing process. During the freezing process the impure portion of water is maintained in liquid condition and then drawn off. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly consisting of a plastic bottle (9) with a closure and maintained in a chilled or heated environment. The bottle cap (8) forms an inner reservoir (13). The reservoir volume provides additional space to take up the increase in volume arising from the change from water to ice while maintaining the liquid condition of its contents.
