PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out appropriate processing in accordance with an identified type of recorded code data by determining the data type in the code data.

SOLUTION: A code reading terminal comprises an imaging unit 7 for photographing encoded data consisting of a body portion having encoded ringing tone data and a header portion including a data identifier D indicating the type of data in the body portion; a data identifier unit 19a for identifying the type of the encoded data photographed by the imaging unit 7 based on the data identifier D, and control units 13 and 19 for reading the encoded data depending on the data type identified by the data identifier unit 19a and for reproducing the ringing tone data that has been read.
