PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high sensitivity yoke MR head capable of reducing the leakage of a magnetic flux inside a yoke and improving the detection sensitivity, and a magnetic reproducing device using it. SOLUTION: A magnetic head is provided with a prescribed magnetoresistive effect element 110 and two yokes which are a first yoke 104 and a second yoke 105 constituted of one, two or more prescribed members and composed of a high magnetic permeability magnetic material, the magnetoresistive effect element 110 is arranged so as to bridge the ends of a first yoke rear part 104b and a second yoke rear part 105b and a magnetic circuit in which a gap 120 is formed between the ends of a first yoke front part 104a and a second yoke front part 105b is constituted. Opposing surfaces forming the gap 120 are formed with an inclination of an angle≤50°to a surface vertical to the center axis of the first yoke front part 104a and the second yoke front part 105a at the ends of the first yoke front part 104a and the second yoke front part 105a.
