<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thermally protect a high frequency inverter type lighting circuit block. <P>SOLUTION: In this downlight, the lighting circuit block 2 protruding to the outside of a mounting plate 1 is arranged on the upper face of the metallic mounting plate 1, and a lamp 3 and a reflection shade 4 covering the lamp 3 are arranged on the lower face of the mounting plate 1.
