PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system in which it is possible to present the result of a prediction to a user after predicting accurately to some extent the time until the completion of an image transfer to an information processor connected to a network during operation of a scanner of an image forming device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is characterized in that it is provided with a compression memory to store compressed image data, a printer/scanner controller connected to the network, an expander to expand the compressed image data, a transfer means to transfer the image data stored in the compression memory after it is expanded by the expander to the printer/scanner controller, and a remaining time arithmetic means to calculate the remaining time for the transfer by the transfer means.
