PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin, excellent in a moisture retainability-imparting force in an extent for improving wrinkles. SOLUTION: This external preparation for the skin is characterized by containing (1) amodimethicone and (2) a polyethylene glycerol in a mass ratio of amodimethicone to polyethylene glycerol of 10:1 to 1:1. The emulsifier form is preferably an oil-in-water type emulsifier form. It is further preferable that the external preparation for the skin contains an alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer and/or its salt, and ubidecarenone and/orα-lipoic acid. The ubidecarenone is preferably contained in the form of vesicle. It is preferable that the vesicle contains a hydrogenated phospholipid and phytosterol in addition to the ubidecarenone.
