ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp in which inductance irregularity in an induction coil can be restricted to provide a secure start.

SOLUTION: This electrodeless discharge lamp is provided with the induction coil comprising a core 123 and a winding wound around the core 123 to generate an electromagnetic field inside a bulb 110, an insertion part 163 provided inside the core 123, and a flat surface part 165 to let heat from the insertion part 163 out of a case 140. An interval is formed between the end of the core 123 on the side of a flat surface 165 and the flat surface 165, so that inductance irregularity in the induction coil 120 is reduced to provide the secure start.
