PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which performs optimum drive control regardless of variations in components for a driving system of each product. SOLUTION: A driving-system load measuring part 22 makes a carriage motor 11 and a conveying motor 13 operate when instructions are issued from a central processing unit (CPU) 2, so as to measure loads on the driving systems of main and auxiliary scanning mechanisms in that case. In the CPU 2, a control parameter, which is preset so as to control the carriage motor 11 and the conveying motor 13, is corrected according to collected measurement data, so that a mechanical load on the driving system, intrinsic to the product, can be optimized.
