The toroidal regulating device has a single-loop control loop with a regulator (R1) that has at least one differential element in addition to a proportional element. The regulator has at least one integral element whose lag time is greater than a regulator delay time. The integral element's lag time can be five times greater than the regulator's delay time. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of using an inventive toroidal regulating device (b) and a toroidal gearbox with an inventive toroidal regulating device.
