<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the temperature of a catalyst in simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: This catalyst temperature estimating device for estimating the temperature of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst for purifying harmful materials in an exhaust gas comprises catalyst temperature estimating means 401 for estimating the temperature of the catalyst, an operation condition detecting means 405 for detecting the operation condition of an engine, and a catalyst temperature changing means 430 for changing the temperature of the catalyst to be a value which is estimated in a different way from that of estimating the normally operation condition of the engine when the deceleration operated condition of the engine is detected by the operation condition detecting means 405. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
