The hydropneumatic axle suspension for vehicles with steeply varying axle loading, especially tractors, comprises two hydraulic cylinders (24). These are connected to pneumatic pressure sources (20, 21) by pressure-controlled circuits (R, Z) for the cylinder chamber (22) and annular chamber (23). The axle spring rate is computer-controlled using data fed to it but can be modified by external control signals.
