PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heater in which the heating state of food can be effectively observed during heating. SOLUTION: The microwave heater has a door 6 freely opening and closing to take in and out the food 1 to a heating chamber 2 and provided with a transparent window 6a for seeing the food 1 in the heating chamber 2. A slit plate 6a2 is made of a material of high conductivity, and has many small holes not longer than cut-off wavelength and the thickness about five times as deep as the depthδof a surface film. A heat resistant and transparent film 6a1 is stuck to one side of the slit plate 6a2 to form the transparent window 6a of the door 6. The slit plate 6a2 side of the transparent window 6a is opposed and fixed to a transparent window support 6d provided in the periphery of an opening 6c of a door main body 6b provided for observing the heating chamber 2.
