PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge mechanism of an opening/closing type cellular phone capable of opening/closing by both manual and electric operation and stopping closing/opening at any position in the case of manual operation. SOLUTION: In the hinge mechanism of the opening/closing type cellular phone, an input signal of the opening/closing switch provided on the body drives a motor 10 to open/close the phone. The mechanism is equipped with a reduction means 11 mounted on the motor 10, a shaft 21 connected to an output shaft 101 of the reduction means 11, a fixing cylinder 22 having a slit in a cylindrical shape on an inner and outer part, a plurality of clutch boards 24 engaging with an inside slit 22a of the fixing cylinder 22 and integrally rotating, a clutch disk 23 engaging with the corner part formed on the shaft 21 and integrally rotating, a spring 25 inserted in the shaft 21 and applying rotating resistance, and a fixing disk 26 fixed on the end of the shaft 21.
