The invention relates to a machine tool, or a handling gear, in particular a long-bed machine tool, comprising a machine unit (1), which may be displaced along a guide (2), in relation to a machine frame (2), or an underlying machine unit. Said machine unit is, in particular, a carriage, which may be driven by a rotating motor (5), by means of a threaded spindle (4), with at least one damping device to suppress the vibrations of the threaded spindle (4). Said damping device comprises an auxiliary support (9), which may travel in the direction of the displaceable machine unit. The movement of the damping device(s) in all operating circumstances is controlled dependent upon the displacement of the displaceable machine unit (1), whereby the damping device(s) is/are driven by a drive system, which comprises a traction mechanism (7), guided over at least one guide roller. |
