<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition consisting of a dispersion of colored fine particles, enabling a high-density recording with high picture quality, having handleability, odorlessness, safety, small particle diameter of the dispersed particles and excellent dispersion stability and storage stability of the dispersion and, accordingly, free from the clogging problem on the nozzle tip when applied to ink to get excellent ejection stability, applicable to any kind of paper, exhibiting excellent color-developing and color tone (hue), exhibiting excellent ink penetration even on a photographic grade paper and giving a printed image having excellent water resistance, especially image storability and scratch resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based ink composition contains a dispersion of colored fine particles containing an oil-soluble dye and further contains a water-soluble polymer, a hydrophilic organic solvent and a surfactant. The water-soluble polymer of the water-based ink composition is anionic or nonionic and its content is 0.001-5 mass%. The inkjet recording method using the water-based ink composition has excellent dispersion stability, storage stability and ejection stability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
