PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing circuit, an image processing method, and a camera apparatus that can realize pixel control functions such as detection of an optional pixel and marking in addition to detection and correction functions of a defective pixel included in an image signal without increasing the circuit scale. SOLUTION: A defect correction circuit 114 carrys out correction processing of a defective pixel on the basis of an instruction from a pixel detection circuit 113 and carrys out replacement processing of a pixel signal to an optional pixel designated from an operation section on the basis of pixel designation information set to the defect correction circuit 114 via a microcomputer 117. A pixel detection circuit 113 has a function of discriminating pixel signals configuring the image signal and performs the detection processing of the defective pixel and detection processing of the optional pixel replaced by the defect correction circuit 114 similarly to prior arts. By employing the functions of the pixel detection circuit 113 and the defect correction circuit 114 in a composite way, the designation of a marking pixel is made possible in addition to defect correction and additional functions such as marking of the optional pixel with respect to the image signal and area designation are realized.
