Explosive igniter.. G6A. For insensitive explosive e.g. thickened, aqueous deposits based on the ammonium nitrate containing a mass of a high energy explosive such as cast "B". The explosive has one or more cavities for accommodating an initiator such as a fuse cord and an initiator charge which is sensitive to a detonator. The initiator charge is arranged adjacent to such a cavity and contains pentaerythritol tetranitrate. The pentaerythritol tetranitrate in the initiator at its circumference adjacent to the cavity is compressed to a density of 1.15 to 1.3 g/ml, and is sensitive to detonation by an "E-Cord". |
