摘要 PURPOSE: A method for assigning and transmitting a cell indicator in a wireless mobile communication system is provided to puncture the first bit and the ninth bit in a long indicator code, and to remove loss of a minimum hamming distance, thereby minimizing degradation of decoding performance of an SSDT(Site Selection Diversity Transmit) indicator code. CONSTITUTION: A wireless mobile communication device periodically measures a receiving level of a signal transmitted from a base station of a cell assigned with a 16-bit indicator code whose first bit and ninth bit are '0', and selects a primary cell. The wireless mobile communication device punctures the first bit and the ninth bit of the 16-bit indicator code corresponding to the selected primary cell, and periodically transmits the punctured bits through an FBI(Feedback Indicator) field of an uplink control channel. The wireless mobile communication device is a mobile communication terminal. A punctured 14-bit indicator code is transmitted during one wireless frame of the control channel with the 16-bit indicator code.
