An electric contact device comprises contacts 1, 2, contact 2 consisting of a holder 3 containing at least one stack of interlocked, equal, resilient, metal plates 4 folded in V-shape and mounted for tilting about their folds 5, plates 4 being locked at or near their folds 5 against lateral movement, lying with one of their free edges 9 parallel to folds 5 against a contact surface 7 of holder 3 and forming with their other free edges 10 parallel to folds 5 a contact surface cooperating with contact 1. Plates 4 are separated by spacers 12. Contact 1 moves in and out laterally. For an axially movable contact 1 plates 4 may be arrayed in a polygon about contact 1.
