摘要 1,103,390. Temperature sensitive resistors. CORECI COMPAGNIE DE REGULATION ET DE CONTROLE INDUSTRIEL. 31 Jan., 1967 [4 Feb., 1966], No. 4778/67. Heading H1K. A pyrometer probe consists of a conducting tube 8 within which a temperature-sensitive resistor 6 is embedded in insulating powder 10, the resistor being connected to the conductors 4 of a cable consisting of a like tube 2 within which the conductors are embedded in a like powdered insulant 3. The two tubes are joined, e.g. by welding, and the free end of the tube 8 is closed by a cover 11 (Fig. 5, not shown). The resistor may have a positive or negative temperature coefficient; the preferred form is a platinum wire laid in a spiral groove on a former of heat agglomerated aluminium oxide and covered with alumina cement. The insulating powder in both the cable and the resistor casing is preferably magnesium oxide. Fig. 4 shows the probe at an intermediate stage in manufacture; the cable conductors 4 have already been welded to the resistor leads 5 and the tube 2 to the tube 8, and magnesium oxide is being passed into the tube 8, which may be vibrated during the filling to compact the powder. When filled, the end of the tube will be sealed by a welded-on cover. Figs. 1 to 3 and 5 (not shown), depict the earlier and later stages of this manufacturing process.
