PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the measurement of a tail clearance with a compact device. SOLUTION: This tail clearance measuring device for shield excavator is provided with a measuring device 14 for measuring a tail clearance 12 with a tail clearance gauge head 13 directly brought in contact with both the inner diameter surface 1a of a shield frame 1 and the outer diameter surface 7a of an existing segment 7 freely to come close or separate to/from a front end of the existing segment 7 with a moving device 16 provided in the shield excavator. In the measuring device 14, a cylindrical main body 18 having the gauge head 13 at one end thereof is supported by a positioning mechanism 19 freely to be positioned in relation to the moving device 16, and the cylindrical main body 18 is provided with a pushing and pulling device for pushing and pulling the gauge head 13 forward and backward, a rotary driving device for driving the gauge head 13 and a detecting unit for detecting the rotation of the gauge head 13 inside thereof. |
